Presenting Erasmus Mundus and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology
On 30 August the Erasmus Mundus thematic day at the EU Pavilion focused on international academic co-operation and learning mobility. Visitors of the event learned about opportunities for higher education institutions from the European Union and other parts of the world to forge closer links and work together. Through the Erasmus Mundus programme the EU also supports the "Study in Europe" initiative that promotes European universities worldwide as attractive study destinations.

On 31 August there was a thematic day dedicated to the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), an important new European initiative in the area of innovation. The role of higher education, research and business for innovation was discussed, including best practice examples from Europe and China in the areas in which the EIT currently operates: climate change, sustainable energy and future information and communication society.
